Terms and Conditions of Your Capital Plumbing & Heating Services Ltd Heating Estimate
1. The Estimated price is valid for 30 days
2. The ownership of the goods and services will not pass to the customer until full and final payment has been made.
3. We have estimated the cost of installing Central Heating equipment as discussed with you and set out on the estimate form. Once you have accepted this estimate we agree to install Central Heating equipment on the terms set out in this document.
4. We will carry out all the work set out in the estimate during normal hours, which are 7.00am to 7.00pm Monday to Friday. There will be an additional charge for any variations or additions to work which you requested either verbally or written. Occasionally whilst we are doing the work we find it necessary to do additional work which could not be reasonably identified on the initial survey. In such a situation we will explain the reasons for the additional work and let you know in advance of the cost of this additional work.
5. The time estimated for the work is our best estimate and we will make every reasonable effort to complete the work on time. However we cannot be held responsible for delays due to weather or other circumstances beyond our control. In such a situation we will agree alternative dates with you.
6. The price does not include the cost of removing hazardous waste such as asbestos, unless this is included in the estimate. If you have arranged independently for asbestos to be removed a clean air certificate must be provided before we will do any further work at your property.
7. If you are a tenant you need your land lords permission to carry out the work in this estimate .Capital Plumbing and Heating will assume that you have the necessary permission .we shall not have any liability for any loss or damage arising from failure to obtain such permission.
8. It is your responsibility to ensure before we start the work that there is an adequate gas, water and electricity supply to your home.
9. We may require you to take up all or some carpets and floor coverings, including tongue and grooved, parquet, hardwood, rubber or tiled floors before we start the work. It will be your responsibility to replace the flooring when the work is complete. You may decide to call a specialist contactor to do this work
for you.
10. We will take reasonable care to carry out the work without causing unnecessary damage to your home, and will make good plaster work where necessary, but you accept that the installation may cause damage to the decorations and fittings both internally and externally. It is anticipated that certain areas may need redecoration following completion of the installation .It is your responsibility to source matching bricks for outside making good otherwise we will use the closest match available.
11. Where we need to connect new equipment to your existing central heating system we will not accept liability for the cost of repairing or replacing parts or your existing system which subsequently develops faults i.e.; powerflushing and pressurising systems .Nor will we rectify underlying faults that could not readily be found at point of survey. Nor will we accept liability where your heating system does not function properly due to inadequate water supply.
12. A 50 % deposit is required before commencement of the work.
The balance is payable on completion. Payment can be made using Cheque,
Cash or Credit Card.

Capital Plumbing & Heating Services Ltd Private Customers Scheme.
The scheme provides the customer with the following services:
a. Full system survey, undertaken by qualified engineers.
b. Annual gas servicing of the properties boiler.
c. Breakdown cover, covering the full central heating system
d. Plumbing breakdown cover
e. Drainage cover
During the initial service visit, a CPHS engineer will undertake a full survey of the properties central heating & plumbing system. The survey’s function is to establish the condition of the properties central heating & plumbing system; the survey will also highlight any faults or problems. If the survey concludes that remedial works are required, the customer will be supplied with a copy of the survey’s finding detailing all the works required together with a breakdown of costs.
The cost of any remedial works will be in addition to the schemes annual subscription.
It is a requirement of the scheme that any works highlighted within the survey, should be undertaken if the service is to continue. If the customer wishes not to have the works undertaken then the component parts will not be covered as part of the scheme, if a subsequent fault develops then this will be chargeable.
If following this initial visit, you wish to withdraw from the scheme the cost of the initial service and survey £80 will be deducted from your annual fee prior to you being reimbursed.
If following your first year’s subscription to the scheme you decide to continue for a second year, there will be no need to undertake another survey, provided your agreement is unbroken. However, if you should leave the scheme following completion of the first year and then decide to re-join at a later date, another survey will need to be undertaken before you can be re-admitted to the scheme.
Any customer who signs up to the scheme will have the peace of mind that their central heating & plumbing system is covered for both service and repair via the annual subscription fee. This fee ensures that the boiler will receive an annual service.
Any problem which may occur during the period covered will be attended to promptly by fully competent personnel. 1st year's cover will not commence until one month after the payment is received. Call outs or repairs in this period will be subject to our standard charge rate (available on request)
Agreement Exclusions
• Electric installations, except the wiring associated with the central heating systems controls.
• Other gas appliances such as cookers and tumble dryers
• Replacing your boiler or any other gas space heater.
• Replacing taps or tap washers or non standard components.
• Repairing or replacing the mains water stop cock, water softeners, shower pumps, and mixer valves, combined overflow and pop up waste, water filters, swimming pools, garden pumps, rain water pipes, guttering, macerators (Saniflo).
• Gas fires and flues (except the isolation of in an emergency)
• Replacement manholes, soakaways, septic tanks.
• Regularly cleaning drains.
• Unblocking or repairing a blocked shared drain with another property.
• Replacement of drainage system
• Repairing or replacing parts of your central-heating system and controls that are specifically designed for
piped or electric underfloor heating (other than warm-air systems).
• Inherent defects or inadequacy to the original design of the system/appliance and consequential damage or loss arising from defects.
• Replenishment of chemical treatments.
• Any pipe work or part of the flue system buried in the fabric of the property.
• Limited to £500.00 per call out to carry out repairs.
General Exclusions
Design or existing faults
The cost of repairs needed because of design faults (unless CPHS is responsible), or faults which existed before you entered into the agreement and which could not be identified on initial inspection using reasonable care and skill.
Third-party or accidental damage
The cost of repairs relating to damage caused by you or someone else.
Consequential loss
Unless CPHS is responsible for it, loss or damage to property caused by the appliance, boiler or system breaking down (for example, damage to furniture caused by water leaks).
Any redecoration that may be needed following CPHS work is your responsibility, unless CPHS have been negligent.
Normal insured risks
The cost of repairing faults or damage caused by freezing weather, subsidence, structural repairs, accident, fire, lightning, explosion, flood or storm. The cost of repairing damage caused by changes to, or problems with, the gas, electricity or water services. You should check your household insurance to make sure you have enough cover for these risks.
Further items as follows:
• Replacing appliances, mains fed cylinders (megaflow, oso cylinders) bathroom fixtures, showers and sanitary ware.
• Improvements including work that is needed to bring your system up to current standards, i.e. Building Regulation Part L1. Examples of improvements include system upgrades, such as adding thermostatic radiator valves, upgrading control programmers, replacing parts such as flues which do not meet current standards, and replacing working radiators with improved models. (These are examples only, not a complete list).
• Replacing or repairing decorative or other parts which do not affect how the system or appliance works.
• Resetting controls (for example, thermostats and programmers following wintertime or summertime changes).
• Repairing faults or clearing physical blockages (blockages such as rubble, sludge ,scale and aggressive water damage, but not air locks)
• Removing asbestos associated with repairing the appliance or system. When you have had any asbestos removed, you must provide CPHS with a clean-air certificate before they will do any further work at your property. By law, the person who removes the asbestos must give you a clean-air certificate.
• Cash alternatives for repair or maintenance.
• Repairing or replacing any lead or gas pipes.
