Unvented hot water cylinders

Unvented hot water cylinders do require annual servicing and maintenance to keep them running safely and efficiently. At Capital Plumbing & Heating Services Ltd we can assure you that all of our engineers have achieved there unvented accreditation and we are equally experienced in dealing with all types of unvented cylinder i.e. Megaflow, Oso, Range and so on to many to mention.

There are 2 main types of unvented cylinder one which utilises an internal air gap within the cylinder itself, the other type utilises an external Domestic water Pressure Vessel with both types regular servicing is crucial i.e. to replace the depleted air gap to stop the system over pressurising and letting the pressure relief valve open and wasting all that hot water that has just been heated drip away to external. You might have seen this occurring either from the visual point in the airing cupboard called a tundish which looks like this (Click Here).

Alternatively you may have noticed a wet patch below a pipe on the external footprint of the house, this is the pressure relief pipework terminal and looks like this (Click Here).

We will only use quality manufacturers products sourced from quality suppliers with good returns policies and good warranty timescale normally 12 months but in some cases we have been able to negotiate 24 month guarantee on parts for our customers. In the case of warranty issues with any such part of the system we promise to remove and replace that part and seek reimbursement from the manufacturers thus impacting as little as possible on our customers.
